last weekend (22/23rd march). I headed off to Hove to meet up with art collector and very good friend Seval.
I planned a two day visit with her that would conclude with attending The Stone Tide book launch. I took my camera to get some material together, but I failed miserably as I spent all my time chatting, eating lots of cake, and generally enjoying the conversations with Seval, the camera lived in my backpack for the most part.
However I took around 30 shots of the beach in Eastbourne, and a couple in Brighton. (See Images at the bottom of this post)
The book launch was great, and held in the amazing book / off license / live venue. “Borough wines Beers and Books” I brought along 3 framed prints. and a portfolio of 10 art prints for people have a look through. It was also a thrill to see the book on display, and to see my art looking great.
(pic by Influx press. also showing Vince ray’s artwork which features in the book).
Downstairs the book launch coincided with regular art happening “Weird Shit”, Art films, spoken word and sonic pounding bass was the vibe, and people stood transfixed , waiting for the next “Weird Shit” to happen, with Spoken word from Gareth E. Rees, Gary Budden, and Michael Smith.
(looking a bit bedazzled!! In front of one of my framed stone Tide prints.)
Meanwhile upstairs, the atmosphere was slightly boozy and relaxed. the crowd was full of artists, writers and musicians, some knew about the event, others followed their curiosity, resulting in an interesting crowd.
It was nice to talk to so many people, and to meet documentary film maker, artist, writer, and poet Michael Smith. Also worth mentioning is the amazing artist Martin O’Neill who was excellent company over a glass of Cloudwater, and was passionate about the process of making art.
Thanks for all you who stopped to have chat with me, and the interest in my work!

As mentioned earlier I did take some shots and I have been experimenting. here are some examples below.
I have been busy prepping prints to show at the book launch of The Stone Tide. The event is on 23 March 2018 in Hastings.
I shall be there if you fancy a chat and also to learn more about The Stone Tide.
I will be also showing framed artwork used for the book cover, prints are for sale on the night.
